working behind the scenes of San Francisco Opera on all the details that spark the magic of the Opera!
After the visit, join Laurent Caille at the Green Room, in our VIP lounge area generously decorated by Ligne Roset San Francisco. Laurent will answer your questions and dig deeper into the back of house secrets of both SF Opera and
Opera Garnier in Paris, as well as their mysteries, with insights on technical and budgetary constraints,
but also superstitions and of course the Ghost of the Opera!

Lori Harrison - Property master at San Francisco Opera
Lori Harrison has had the privilege of leading the San Francisco Opera Prop Department since January of 1998. Other positions with the San Francisco Opera have been on the Prop Crew, in the Scene Shop, as an Assistant Technical Director, and in Assistant Stage Management. Work elsewhere has been on feature films, TV pilots and series, Industrial Light and Magic (Model Shop, features, and commercials), Greater Miami Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Syracuse Stage, and McCarter Theatre. Other interests include music, bicycles, languages, crafts, travel, and walking. |
Laurent Caille - Artistic Director, Designer, Historian, Head Make-up Artist, Hairdresser & Wigmaker
Laurent Caille has been a French Make-up Artist since 1986, trained in Paris by Dany Sanz the founder of Make Up Forever. Hairdresser since 1984, he won France and European championships and quickly became Manager and Trainer of an international famous brand of French salons, before moving to the fashion industry in the 1980s. He has been a Head Hairdresser, Master Wigmaker and Make-up Artist in the world of Cinema and Entertainment for over 35 years. Working with noted movie and stage directors as well as renowned actors, he acquired through his career a great experience of the sets, light and image, wigs and history, participating in many French and international period and contemporaries films, famous television programs as well as many renowned shows and operas. He is also Artistic Director, Journalist, Scenographer, Photographer and Movie Director.
